This past summer I visited MoMA for the first time and was able to see Salvador Dali’s The Persistence of Memory. I had heard of the surrealist artist prior to my visit, but seeing his art in person made me very interested in his work. After a few Google searches, I happened upon a Dali/Disney short film collaboration. The project originally began in 1945, but was put on an indefinite hiatus due to Disney’s financial status during WWII.
Destino would not be completed for another 58 years when Roy E. Disney unearthed the project while working on Fantasia 2000.
