8-Bit Recreations of Famous Paintings

I just read on Huffington Post about Adam Lister, an artist who makes 8-bit versions of famous paintings. His work reminds me of the first project we did. I’m especially fond of Lister’s recreation of the “Great Wave.” It evokes a different type of sentiment than the original image because everything is no longer made of smooth, coherent lines but rather rectangular blocks. It contradicts my ordinary perceptions of waves and water.
