Vivian Maier‘s works found today are not her original prints but rather prints made from her negatives. This is because she was not a renowned photographer but worked as a nanny her whole life, and later live a homeless life in poverty. After her death, thousands of Maier’s undeveloped films were discovered and her work became known to the world.

I think she is an extremely talented, artistic, and original photographer who kept pursuing her passion despite all the things that were going on with her life.

Also, Maier left a lot of self portraits: the ones where a woman is holding a camera facing the mirror are all her self portraits. She also took self portraits by taking her shadows in the same posture. If you like her works you should definitely check out her website that I linked above.
